βLake Ontario A Quest For Hopeβ DVD explores how the lake
become the most polluted of the five Great Lakes and what is being done to improve its condition.
Using underwater and drone photography, the feature length
documentary explores lake shore marshes, views tributary fish
runs, and provides an eagle's eye view of Lake Ontario bluffs
shorelines and islands. The production team also sets sail
aboard an antique schooner to visit and film a remote Canadian Island and its underwater life.
The video covers topics such as non point pollution from storm
water runoff, plastics and chemicals in drinking water, invasive
species and the impacts of power production on the lake and suggests solutions.
Scientists and activists also share what has been done and
what more needs to happen to restore the lake's web of life. reviewer comments βYou did a great job of interweaving a wide variety of story
elements, some of them fairly technical, while making them accessible to 'regular folks' with limited knowledge of the
scienceβ C.M. (journalist) βYou take just the right tone--telling the sad truth, but mixing
in examples of hope.β B. M.(professor emerita)
